Accelerating Global Access to U=U: From a grassroots campaign to a global mandate, led by and for the HIV community

U=U is a game-changer, transforming the social, sexual, and reproductive lives of people living with HIV and accelerating toward the end of the epidemic. U=U is now unequivocally confirmed by the scientific community, and U=U education is required by PEPFAR and Global Fund.

However, in many parts of the world there is little to no education about U=U, and close to 10 million people worldwide are not receiving the treatment and care to experience U=U. There is an urgent need for coordinated and collaborative action across all stakeholders, including international organisations, local and national governments and policymakers, researchers, advocates, and grassroots organisations to ensure U=U can be a reality for all.

After a brief introduction to U=U history and progress, this interactive session will identify barriers to equitable access to U=U information, treatment, and care. We will explore solutions for advocates to ensure U=U reaches all people living with HIV accurately and meaningfully and the movement continues to be led by the global community of people living with HIV in all our diversity.
