Alexandra ‘Sasha’ Volgina

Alexandra Volgina is a positive activist and an expert in organizing care and treatment for active drug users living with HIV in Russia. In 2003, she co-founded Front-AIDS, the first treatment advocacy group in Russia. She later co-founded and became director of Svecha, one of the first community-based organizations for people living with HIV. Sasha is Community, Networks, and Partnership Manager at GNP+ with proven experience in community engagement, network management, and partnership development. She has been working in HIV, key populations, and global health advocacy already for over two decades. In GNP+ she focused on addressing Stigma, Discrimination, and Criminalization. In the last two years, her focus has shifted to combined HIV and Humanitarian response in crises, particularly during the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
